
Kambale Vitswamba Obady, MD, MMed
Born in 1982, Dr. Obady is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with extensive training and international fellowship experience. He graduated from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 2019 with a degree in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In the same year, he pursued a Fellowship in Burn Surgery at Choitram Hospital, Indore, India, and later completed a Fellowship in Hand Trauma and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Ganga Hospital, India, in 2024.
Dr. Obady currently serves as a Consultant Reconstructive Surgeon at Centre Hospitalier Bethesda (CBCA) in Goma, North-Kivu, D.R. Congo. His clinical interests include cleft surgery, reconstructive surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, burn management, and war-related surgery.
He is a member of the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS), a 2024 SHARE Fellow, and currently the Vice President of the Pan African Association of Cleft Lip and Palate (PAACLIP). In addition, he lectures at the Faculty of Medicine, Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs (ULPGL) in Goma.
Outside of his professional career, Dr. Obady is married to Marie Mwenge, and together they have three children.
