Alliance Niyukuri

Alliance Niyukuri is a consultant paediatric and general surgeon currently based in the country of Burundi. He is a graduate of the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), COSECSA fellow, CHESA fellowship alumnus, and an initiate member of the American College of Surgeons.  He is the Founder of Mercy Surgeons, an Executive Board member of Innovations in Global Surgery, and a Surgical Educator at Kibuye Hope Hospital/COSECSA

He has formerly worked as Head of the Anatomy Department at Hope Africa University, the Chief of Surgery at Kibuye Hope Hospital, the International surgical representative at GASOC (Global  Anesthesia Surgery Obstetric Collaborative) and a Board Member at Incision Global.  

He is interested in advancing access to safe, affordable and timely surgical care through collaborations in the areas of provision of surgical care services, advocacy, low-cost innovations, and  research with a particular focus on children's surgical services, rural populations and surgical care financing.
